OVERVIEW
The TETRA communication system is scalable, reliable and extremely durable for open pit mining operations.
Today’s integrated mining operations need to be able to respond quickly to changing requirements to deliver efficient production with minimal impact on the environment, safety and health of workers. These challenges are constantly increasing as exploration activities take place in increasingly remote areas. There are large distances between operations centres, mines, manufacturing plants, logistics while production is carried out 24/7. Communication plays a key role in ensuring the coordination of operations as well as the safety of those involved.
DAMM fully understands the importance of reliable voice and data communications. We specialize in providing equipment that is perfectly suited for harsh working conditions and remote areas where mining operations take place. Through our solutions, we integrate critical communications between mining sites, dock operations, and central control stations, improving both efficiency and safety for all involved.
DAMM TETRA SOLUTIONS FOR MINING ACTIVITIES
DAMM’s TetraFlex solution provides a complete and reliable trunked TETRA communications system. It enables secure, private voice and data communications in mining operations to improve efficiency and optimize safety.

Dispatching solution for mining
Using the TetraFlex dispatching solution, all users – from truck drivers transporting minerals, metals to railway trains, or station staff, maintenance staff can be easily dispatched. In addition, all equipment users will be managed by the dispatcher. Thanks to the integrated GPS positioning system, the dispatcher can track and optimize the movement of mobile vehicles in the mining area in real time. The TetraFlex dispatcher can operate using Google maps or via a custom uploaded mining area map.
Collecting data and voice to increase productivity.
For many modern mining companies, the TetraFlex infrastructure plays a critical role in providing data from mining operations to inform decisions to improve operations, recommendations, forecasting, planning, costing and reporting. The TetraFlex data and voice management solution, provides comprehensive data and voice logging and review facilities across the network. It enables the most efficient reconfiguration of incidents while also centralizing valuable performance statistics. TetraFlex comes with an easy-to-access API for fast and efficient data transfer to mining cost and performance analysis systems.
Secure Voice Communications
With the TetraFlex communication system, a defined user group and work teams can be easily identified and coordinated. Highly flexible voice communication services support individual calls, group calls, PSTN calls …; always with good quality, even in the noisiest places due to mining activities. In case of emergency, the system provides rescue calls, personal alarm means.
Efficient Data Transfer
The TetraFlex Data Service is key to achieving efficiency. It provides data for monitoring of personnel, GPSS-equipped vehicles, and is also used to delineate hazardous work areas with alerts sent to site dispatchers if a vehicle enters a hazardous area. Recording GPSS coordinates can also be used to monitor and optimize the routes and speeds of a variety of machinery such as trucks, excavators, bulldozers, and tankers. This improves productivity and saves energy on lighting, as well as providing information to support automated traffic control. The TetraFlex Data Service allows telemetry and SCADA data to be used to support a wide range of secondary applications. These include vehicle management and machine operation optimization, such as average truck load levels, or receiving safety alerts and data from remote locations such as waste lines, rail operations or water purification systems. Data and alerts can be sent to the operations center or directly to the vehicle or a handheld TETRA terminal. With the TETRA communication system, telemetry and data can now be easily integrated seamlessly via the TETRA API interface.
